From Proxmox VE
Here are some comments we've received from Proxmox Virtual Environment users.
We loved it since we first gave it a try... Others are costly but Proxmox is priceless...
We discovered ProxMox first and then OpenVZ in early 2009. Thomas Festus of PlaNetTel, Singapore invested in setting up our first ProxMox machine - the CPU and mainboard were only OpenVZ capable - we put it thru' it's paces - and we were amazed with it's ease of use. We then scaled up to a full KVM enabled ProxMox install of v1.3 and were greatly impressed with the pve-manager's capabilities in handling both OpenVZ containers and full KVM machines. We also used DAB to build some templates like eyeOS, FrontAccounting, etc., and submitted them to the community and still actively maintain them. A trust managing a rural Indian Govt. aided Women's college - Seethalakshmi Achi College For Women - provided resources to build the next ProxMox v1.4 - and we are happy to note the significant advances the project is making quickly and continually. Further Appliances like vTigerCRM, OpenGOO, etc have now been added to the growing list of community Templates, thanks to the college's resources. GNUAcademy provided for a third edition of ProxMox v1.7 in Nov 2010, leveraging NFS based shares, sponsoring a series of Squeeze based OpenVZ templates for the community. Support for sponsored templates I maintain are available from Planettel.
We discovered OpenVZ almost 2 years ago, and just recently found Proxmox. We'd been looking for control panel software for a long time without success This product met - and GREATLY exceeded - our needs. Proxmox has to be the most remarkable example of "under the radar" software. This was an instant (or the closest you'll ever get in a production environment) close to "no brainer" decision we've made in a long time. One morning of testing followed by a day of torture testing (to see if we could break stuff) was all it took - and we're well known for being extraordinarily picky about what we deploy!!
Proxmox is a painless virtualization and management solution. Lightweight, flexible, stable, unobtrusive, and splendidly supported by a first class group of people on the forums. We migrated all our OpenVZ VE's to proxmox effortlessly. We used KVM to install a windows server instance on the same host as a bunch of Linux VE's! (Yes, that still feels weird!) The degree of integration between KVM and OpenVZ is remarkable.
The web management interface is a joy to use. Sensibly and intuitively designed. it has almost everything necessary for one stop server farm management. It's lightweight, quick, informative, easy on the eyes with an absence of "gee whiz" eye candy, and has a solid "feel" to it lacking in "some other solutions" out there.
One feature that may not be apparent until you've been using the software for a while is that you can delegate a significant amount of repetitive server management tasks to less knowledgeable staff. No longer does it have to be the organization übergeek who is the sole command line pilot for ve creation and management. A competent individual can do almost all management tasks within the web interface without any difficulty. Invisible savings like that mount up over time!
We donated almost immediately, we intend to do so again, and we strongly encourage others to do the same. This is money well spent! Do it! Tell colleagues about this solution, the more widely deployed it is, the better for everyone.
A huge thank you to the Proxmox team for a really first class product, and for setting an example of how software product support should be in the real world. Thanks Guys!
Once in a while - and it's not often - a piece of software comes along which changes the game completely. Proxmox is a game changer.

Proxmox VE is a excellent virtualization solution, and has numerous strengths that make it suitable for deployment in many environments. The tight integration of OpenVZ and KVM based virtualization, along with an easy to use web-based management interface make this solution stand out in the virtualization space.

I was very impressed about the concept and usability - now we can run all our Linux servers virtualized without performance loss - I am sure a lot of people around will love Proxmox VE.

I love this software already....

I have just recently tried PVE, and thought I would offer some feedback...
I was very impressed with the installation. It was quick and simple, and I thought it had a professional look and feel.
I am also very impressed with the PVE web console. Looks professional, quick and easy to use, good feedback on cpu, memory, disks, etc Also the virtual server console feature is great I think the PVE team has done a great job. Thanks for making it open source!....

...I just successfully migrate all of my 4 server out of 10 which contain about 2-5 quest per server. Thank you for the well done product. ....

We moved from vmware to Proxmox VE in our office. We are now running 18 linux guests with openvz en 6 windows guests with kvm on a cluster of 4 servers. I discovered Proxmox only a while ago, but already convinced... Within short time we also going to use it in our datacenter. Thank you very much for this great product.

I have tested several virtualisation products (vmware, virtualiron, citrix xenserver, bare xen, bare kvm) befor and never found such an amazing simple plug and play solution like proxmox with much better performance than vmware server 2. I migrated all our virtualization server from vmware 2.0 to proxmox successfully. We have now 4 windows 2003 server and 14 linux server virtualized on four hardware server. I can really recommend it for enterprise use as it it is now rock solid and stable.

I have 15 servers, all equiped with Proxmox VE. This solution seem's, for me and for my customers, a good solution. Stable and simply to administer. I virtualize always with OpenVZ, my linux machines, except virtualized firewalls, and KVM all Win2k solutions. It works good and i'm upgrading all my customers to such a solution. The support is great and the attention to the users problems is very good. For me ProxmoxVE is the number ONE in virtualization.
OpenIT srl, Diaolin (Giuliano Natali) Italy
20 server running perfectly with OpenVz and Kvm on the same hardware. Perfect, and super-flexible solution for hosting, and virtual machines, and -of course- for testing services and OS. Special features for high availabilities with embedded cluster system. Many customers full-satisfied after migration from fisical machines to VMs. Excellent 'on-line' backup system! My favorit virtualization platform -think&hope- forever!

Proxmox is the best panel for OpenVZ, all my VPS runs on Proxmox since many years.

This shows how great a opensource software can be! It's so easy to manage virtual machines with Proxmox... Great work!
