Introduction

At regular basis, Proxmox releases new version of the PVE Proxmox, containing new features and fixes.

Single node

Upgrading in this situation is very straight forward. Just perform the instructions which can be found on the download pages.

Cluster

When you have a cluster, it is a bit different to upgrade. As a general note I can say:

NEVER RUN A MIXED ENVIRONMENT.

Clarification: If you upgrade, you must do so for all the nodes in your cluster. Migration of VPS ( Virtual Privat Servers - your KVM's or OPENVZ ) between different versions of Proxmox has no guarantee of working.
