Hi I am in Canada and my hobby for the last year was learning Linux and making a wifi hotspot with some custom apps just to get to learn all the systems that make things work.

Work as a design engineer for many high tech aircraft gyrostabilized optical systems back in the 80's and then worked my way down until I automated a factory that made telecommunications equipment.

In the last year I have been working on setting up my little wifi hotspot service in Downtown Vancouver. It doesn't make me get bored and there is a Mikrotik dealer a few blocks away from me with better cheaper routers to setup a new idea and its what got me interested when I stumbled across it and got the first Wireless AP from them.

I have been through almost every distro trying to piece them all into the system that I called "Skynet Wireless" for what it has become. A noisy server rack with some Mikrotik stuff has become a network where all kinds have used custom apps I made.

I have 6 Dell Poweredges and running all the servers inside Proxmox would be much nicer now that I want to make things smaller and simpler.

The servers I have are PE 1950's and I think I can run a site on 3 of them so I can split them up and set a new site up the others.

I have been running these noisy things all year with an air conditioner to cancel out the heat they make and I got to hide them away and get them off the table. I must say that getting a couple dell rack switches and learning VLans was got me seeing the end of the ethernet cables. I was away from this stuff for 15 years so I was almost doing everything backwards until it all clicked. Then that was backwards until something else made better sense.

I would be happy to run some servers on Proxmox and would use the subscription to make it all run efficiently and have a quiet place once more.
