I don't think they are any problem, I think we cant setup good values for 99,99% of scenarios.

But maybe use want to choose witch mode they want.

for example: stefan show with benchmark (kvm git) that scsi-generic is faster than scsi-block with libiscsi.
But maybe this depend of storage hardware or something else. So having choice is always good.
