some features I know:

- switch !  (and not bridge), so you cannot sniff network packet on the same vlan (more secure)
- dynamic vlan tagging change on switch port. (no need to halt vm, or hotunplug/replug network card)
- management of all bonding mode (lacp,...)
- netflow feature for network monitoring inside the switch. (so internal vm traffic)
- benchmark seem to faster than linux bridge module (on 10gb network).
- advanced qos (HFSC)

I understand Openvswitch is 'neat' and has some advanced features, but what specifically will it bring to the table with Proxmox? Not trying to dissuade or discourage, just wondering why some are so keen on seeing it implemented.
