It's seem to be related to usb uhci companion on top of ehci

I can get it work, editing
 /usr/share/qemu-server/pve-usb.cfg

and keep only:

"[device "ehci"]
  driver = "ich9-usb-ehci1"
  addr = "1d.7"
  multifunction = "off"
"

# info mice
  Mouse #1: QEMU HID Tablet (absolute)
  Mouse #0: QEMU PS/2 Mouse
* Mouse #2: vmmouse (absolute)

(Jump to vmmouse if available, good :)

Maybe is vmmouse related ? I don't see the vmmouse mice when companion controller is plugged?

usb1 companion is needed to plug usb-passthough usb1 devices,
as workaround we can do:

-dedicated ehci for tablet. (that use 1 pci slot, maybe not a problem with bridges)
-only add companion if usb passthrough devices exist. (but they will have the mouse pointer bug, maybe it's already the case with proxmox 2.2)

or find the bug (maybe qemu-mailing can help ?)

I can also reproduce it with ubuntu 12.10 installer.

(mouse don't with tablet).

I'll do tests this afternoon, playing with the usb controllers

[Martin Maurer]
Yes, its loaded.

Type 'help' for help.
# info mice
Mouse #0: QEMU PS/2 Mouse
* Mouse #1: QEMU HID Tablet (absolute)

[Martin Maurer]
On windows, no problem.

[Martin Maurer]
Got the issue with almost all (centos63, limt 14, Ubuntu 12.04.2, Wheezy RC1, ...)
