So, maybe do we just need to extend:

PVE::QemuServer::vmstatus

# fixme: better status?
$d->{status} = $list->{$vmid}->{pid} ? 'running' : 'stopped';

I introduced 'qmpstatus' for that purpose (instead of using 'status') - to make sure that 
we do not break something.
