BTW, I see that jessie-backports have 0.80.9-2~bpo8+1

rmadison ceph | grep jessie-backports
 ceph | 0.80.9-2~bpo8+1  | jessie-backports | source, amd64, arm64,
armel, armhf, i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, ppc64el, s390x

but I don't know if we want/should use that.

After adding the backports repo, you have to install the pacakge
specifically

apt-get install -t jessie-backports ceph

ie you don't get automatically all backports installed
