Both ;)  
If people are good in english, they will choose english . (Myself I'm using english gui)
But if people are not too good in english, they prefer french.

I'll try to look at french translation, In the past I have done a lot of translation in .po,
but don't have check it since 1 or 2 years.

You're right. 

Btw I wanted to ask since I read you were doing training for Proxmox VE, 
do people usually choose the English UI or the French UI at the training 
sessions ? 

I've noticed than many strings are not translated in different languages 
and people seldom complain about that. So I was wondering if the 
translations are actually used, or it's just that people get use to 
have a partially translated interface. 

BTW if people are reading this and want to improve translation in their 
own language, I'd like to point out it does not require special 
programming knowledge since you just need to edit a .po file with the 
GUI tool poedit. However you should have some knowledge of the sysadmin 
field to know the context of each word used.
