Exactly, the disk should basically be in a RAID-1 mode during the entire migration process.
Note that this might be incompatible with post-copy mode as with that the remote side
takes over early and would have to mirror its writes back to the source (iow. the remote
side would also have to be in a drive-mirror mode except it only has one disk, so I doubt
that's possible/implemented).
