I tested a bit more, and it would be also possible to use the perl template
toolkit (libtemplate-perl) to make it more convenient.

tpage test.tt >test.dot
dot test.dot -T svg -o test.svg

Note: I tried to resemble some graphs from the cumulus docs for testing.
