interesting, I just checked a ceph cluster of mine setup with a
very recent set of our 6.0 beta packages (from mid/end of last
week), had all that file...

OK, I'll rethink it, we can use your approach just fine if we
do not come up with anything "better" (i.e., which does less
and can report at osd granularity).
