[PVE-User] pve-user Digest, Vol 33, Issue 23

Hi,

do you use the pvetest repository?
If not, just edit /etc/apt/souces.list, should look like this:

__
deb http://ftp.at.debian.org/debian lenny main

# PVE testpackages provided by proxmox.com
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian lenny pvetest

# security updates
deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main
__

USB: is still not really (only 1.1) fast and not that stable in KVM.

Br, martin

Hello Martin

I'm very interested in proxmox progess and would like to do testing the new kernels
but so far I got "only" to :

pve-manager: 1.7-10 (pve-manager/1.7/5323)
running kernel: 2.6.35-1-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.35: 1.6-7
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-28
pve-kernel-2.6.35-1-pve: 2.6.35-7
qemu-server: 1.1-25
pve-firmware: 1.0-9
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-16
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.24-1pve4
vzdump: 1.2-9
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.13.0-2
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-4

how can i upgrade to 2.6.35-9 ?

by the way i have big problems with passing external usb drives to VMs and noy i can see them in VMs but it is working extremly slow...
When I want to transfer 4GB file from usb to VM it says it needs 146 minutes ...

For me it is very important to work with USB ext drives in the real time and I'm wondering what I may be doing wrong

now I have to plug external usb drive to the physical machine and access it through share

Hopefully your new kernels fix that :-)

thank you very much in advance

srdačan pozdrav / best regards

Hi Everyone,

I am opening the VNC console from Proxmox GUI using Chrome and each time I

type a command I can't see it because the window has a scroll to it and I

have to roll it down and with next command the same thing happens. Window

also doesn't maximize.

Is this something everyone experiences or is it just Chrome behaving like

this. I would like like to see a full size window if possible.

Regards,

Le Wednesday 15 December 2010 21:20:15 Ernie Rojas, vous avez ?crit :

hello, friends i am new in this list, i am working with proxmox last 2

month, i have now a 2 proxmox in cluster, and i have the next situation:

i have to make an incremental backup for the image from one Virtual

Machine(with KVM), and save it in a second proxmox server, i think to use

rsync, but the backup in the second proxmox server should be available to

run, if the main VM down...

I think that with only rsync i can have a backup, but how can i make to

register this VM in proxmox manually? are there configuration files from

the proxmox? have I to run some commands manually to do it?

Greetings

Just copy the configuration file in :

- /etc/qemu-server/VMID.conf for KVM

- /etc/vz/conf/CTID.conf for OpenVZ

Hi to all,

I have upgrade to proxmox VE 1.7, and when I create a full virtualized

guest linux (debian 5.0.5 lenny) whit a buisness card iso installer

kernel version 2.6.26-2-486 always randomly freez the guest.

If kvm support is disable the VM is not freez, but losing in

performance, a unreasonable use of virtual ram, cpu and the services is

run on the

guest is unusable.

My pveversion -v

pve-manager: 1.7-10 (pve-manager/1.7/5323)

running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve

proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.7-28

pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-28

qemu-server: 1.1-25

pve-firmware: 1.0-9

libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-16

vncterm: 0.9-2

vzctl: 3.0.24-1pve4

vzquota: 3.0.11-1

pve-qemu-kvm: 0.13.0-2

ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-4

if anybody have some idea thamk's in advance.
