You can't.
As said, the host is unable to know it/
Imagine the guest is using a static IP address; how could the host
know what is the /etc/network/interfaces or the /etc/hostname.if made of ?
Using nmap is a good workaround; otherwise, you could look inside the
guest; use dhcp client and watch the log on the dhcp server.
