The driver to use is stex.ko which is part of the RHEL kernel >= 4.4.
Proxmox is using the kernel from RHEL 6.3 and can be found
here: /lib/modules/2.6.32-14-pve/kernel/drivers/scsi/stex.ko

Promise Linux support site:
http://www.promise.com/single_page_session/page.aspx?region=en-US&m=610&&rsn=108

From kernel.org:
"SCSI_STEX

Promise SuperTrak EX Series support

This driver supports Promise SuperTrak EX series storage controllers.

Promise provides Linux RAID configuration utility for these
controllers. Please visit <http://www.promise.com> to download.

To compile this driver as a module, choose M here: the
module will be called stex."
http://kernel.org/doc/menuconfig/drivers-scsi-Kconfig.html

Which means it is under active development from the Linux kernel team.
Should mean 100% compatibility and support.
