 Have you checked this first ?  https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage:_iSCSI
 Are you planning to use direct mode (separate iscsi lun for each vm) or
lvm (content mode) ? I guess the second since you are interested about disk
images.

I would like mine to do Disk IMage and Container but I do not not
