For SAN installation, I really recommend Coraid, their Etherdrive are very efficient products and AOE is a very affordable alternative. For smallest installation, a Proxmox server with DRBD, it's very nice. I use Citrix Xenserver too, but I really appreciate Proxmox because it is simple and efficient.
